So, you have booked your safari, determined your itinerary and now you are ready to begin the fun part - figuring
out what to wear!

First, you will need to determine the temperature ranges for the country and the time of year you are going. Next,
you must know that you are going to be very limited to the amount and weight of luggage you can take. It's very
important that you spend the time now to take clothing that will not only mix and match, but will also work from
the bush to visits to town. You probably only need half of what you think you need. Most safari operators will do
your laundry every night.

The most common question we get is "What do I need?". I  will try to walk you through the basic recommendations
and then give you some additional fun ideas that have come from our customers. We hope this list will help give you
some ideas that you can use.

The very basic packing list is:

Shirts - 2 long sleeve and 2 short sleeve
                  I also recommend that you take a couple of cotton knit shirts to layer under your shirts.
                  Long Sleeve    Short Sleeve     Sleeveless

Pants & Shorts - 2 pair of pants and (depending on the time of year) a pair of shorts

Jacket & Vest - Depending on the Country you will be visiting and the time of year you are
                  traveling, your need for outerwear will vary.  

Socks - Like a good pair of shoes, socks are very important. We have found the Tilley socks to
                 be among the best for foot comfort.

Accessories - Whether you are on a photo safari or a hunting safari, the most important things
                we think you should take: a good camera, a good pair of binoculars, a great hat, and a journal.
                It doesn't hurt to have a field bag or backpack to carry them with you during your game drives.
                A scarf or one of our leopard print neck gaiters will help keep the cold morning air from blowing down
                your neck while in the open truck.

Shoes/Boots - (it's strongly advised that you take boots that are already broken in and comfortable)
                Safari is not a time for blisters and sore feet. Some regular safari travelers have custom made boots
                and some wear their broken in sneakers. Your choice - just make sure they are comfortable.

Medications - Make sure to take your prescriptions (in their original packaging with the pharmacy
                label) and take enough for your trip and any delays that may occur. You will also want an
                antibiotic cream like Bacitracin, antacids, Band-Aid and Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

     All of our shirts are made from 100% cotton fiber. Cotton is the best material for most outdoor activities
      in tropical and sub-tropical environments. Cotton provides comfort and durability that no other fiber can match.

        Safari Weight:  5.8 oz. cotton twill

   This is a mid-weight fabric that is sturdy and heavy enough to protect you from insects and thorn brush yet

   light enough to breath well.
     Tropical Weight:  4.5 oz. cotton weave
   Our lightest weight fabric.  A loose woven cotton with an emphasis on cool breath-ability for warm climates.
   This fabric looks and acts like a light linen.

     SHE Safari 5 oz. French twill
   A soft light weight cotton French twill for maximum comfort.
