  Book Size: 8.5x11
  Author: Robertson, K. "Doctari"

African big game animals can have very different "kill zones". Kevin Robertson, a PH and veterinarian
from Zimbabwe, has created the most comprehensive work ever undertaken to show the anatomical
features for all classes of African game. Each animal is shown in a color field picture as well as a
color "ghost view" that illustrates the skeleton, heart, lungs, and brain. Included is an invaluable
natural history section for each animal and chapters on caliber, bullet, and rifle selection. This great
reference work is a must-have for your next safari.

Readers so loved The Perfect Shot by Kevin Robertson that they asked for a pocket version to take
along on their hunts. Kevin Robertson and Safari Press teamed up to bring you a concise 128-page,
pocket-size guide, which is a mini reference for making that "perfect shot."  As in the big book, the
mini edition features animal tracks as well as ghost views of vital areas and point of aim for each
animal. A brief essay on natural history, trophy assessment, and subspecies is included. In addition,
the tables in the back list the minimum requirements for the inclusion in the Rowland Ward and SCI
record books. While nothing can replace the "big" book, this is a super handy item to throw in your
backpack or place in your pocket for your next safari.

Buffalo are big, but their shape and solid black color can make it difficult to identify the correct aiming
points. Attach one of these posters to a cardboard backing and shoot from positions simulating field
conditions: off hand, from shooting sticks, and so on. After firing a group of shots, detach from the
cardboard and turn the poster over to see where your shots hit on the inside of the buffalo.
Each package contains five posters, two broadside views and three frontal views.

Actual in-the-field photographs that pictorially describe where you must shoot to get an instantaneous
kill—in other words, how to make that "perfect shot." Each species in this beautifully illustrated book
is highlighted with a "ghost view" that shows not only the vital areas (lung, heart, spine) but also the
entire skeletal structure. All North American big game animals are presented in full color with clear,
well-produced, anatomically and proportionately correct drawings. In his usual clear and concise
manner, Craig Boddington writes about what guns to use, what calibers he recommends, and what
bullet types are suitable for each species

WINNER OF THE 2005 CIC LITERARY AWARD

For close on two centuries, books have been written about the hunting feats of men but very little has
been published concerning the numerous women who hunted during this period. Fiona Capstick has
spent years delving into diaries, journals, articles and books written by or about the world's many
unsung huntresses tracing their role in hunting from the early gatherer-hunter societies, to the
incredible accounts of the sportswomen who made their mark in the world's hunting fields in the late
19th century.

384 pages with color photographs, including a special color feature of the ten recipients of the
SCI Diana Award. Packed with illustrations that reveal the role of the female as a co-provider of food
in prehistoric times right up to her role as international sport huntress in the new millennium.

"All of the huntresses Fiona has featured exhibited the kind of strong self-reliance that commanded
respect in the field. This book contains such grand stories that one is captivated into reading them
over and over again." Joan Vernon Gordon.
