Doesn't khaki have to
match?
NO!! Everything we sell compliments
each other so you can mix and match with the confidence that normally comes
through experience. Below we have shown some combinations of our
different products to give you an idea of how they work together.
Don't forget that you can pair our shirts and vests with your own black or
blue denim jeans. Wear what will allow you to be comfortable.
Why is it important
that the clothes work together?
Because when you are on safari, you will often find yourself dressing in a
dark or dimly lit tent for an early morning game drive. It's good to know that you can grab anything out of your bag,
throw it on, and be confident that it is functional, comfortable, and looks
good without looking contrived. You are spending a lot of time
practicing, planning, and financing your safari. You will want to look
good in your
trophy pictures.

recommendations, call us at 210-697-3373.
Our first
recommendation: don't take too many clothes! Probably one of the
biggest mistakes of first time safari travelers. |

Doesn't cotton
wrinkle?
When you are in camp, irons and ironing
boards are not always available. Remember other cotton shirts
you've tried? They wrinkle like wadded up paper, get crispy, and
almost need a steam roller to get them looking good again. Ours
won't get crispy on you. The softness of these shirts is a
result of the cotton fibers and type of weave. Twill is a weave
similar to the denim weave in your blue jeans. The pictures
below show you a safari weight shirt right out of the washer and right
out of the dryer. While you wouldn't wear one into the office
our out to dinner without ironing it, you could wear it in camp
without running it by an iron.
Doesn't cotton
shrink?
You bet it does! But,
again, the quality of the cotton fibers and the weave have an affect
on how it reacts to hot water and hot dryers. Your cotton
garments will not show the full extent of the amount they will shrink after
only one washing. Cotton may still show some shrinking after multiple
washings.
We worked hard to see just how much we
could make these shirts
shrink. We took a men's size medium and washed it in hot water,
dried on the hottest setting, sent it to the dry cleaners to have it
laundered (very harsh on your shirts). After a cumulative
washing of 25+ times, we have the results. The length of the body of the shirt was
almost
1" shorter, and across the shoulders was 1/2" smaller.
With the generous cut of these shirts, you don't have anything to
worry about.
Now, we don't recommend that you work
that hard to shrink your shirts. We recommend you wash and dry on medium heat to extend the life of your shirts.
But, if you are in camp on your safari, it's good to know that no
matter how the camp staff launders your shirt, it will still fit right, look
good and feel comfortable.
