Practical Application

The Long Grass Binocular Strap is useful whenever you use binoculars or camera. The strap is well suited to hunting, game viewing, birding, and touring applications. Your binoculars or camera are comfortably carried and available for instant use.

How it works. The Long Grass Binocular Strap is significantly longer than most binocular straps and is made to ride over your shoulder and across your body, with the binoculars or camera resting on your hip. This age old carry method transfers the weight of the binoculars to the shoulder rather than the more fragile and sensitive neck. The binoculars stay in place because they are carried at the waist/hip level, your body's natural pivot point. This is the point of minimum body movement whether you are walking, crawling, or running. When running, stalking or low crawling, we recommend pulling the strap so you position the binoculars to the small of your back.

To bring the binoculars into viewing position simply grasp the binoculars with either hand and slide them into position. The leather strap edges are contoured to facilitate sliding. When you are finished viewing, slide the binoculars back to the desired position.

When you must move quickly in the field, such as jogging to catch up with an animal, there is no binocular bounce from elastic or neoprene stretching and rebounding.
If you need to front crawl, both hands remain free for any needed task and your binoculars ride protected in the small of your back. This is not so with an elastic chest harness which will drag the binocular objective lenses through the grass and dirt. Need to add or remove a layer of clothing? Need to crawl through a barbed wire fence? The Long Grass strap slips on and off over your head quickly and easily. There are no confusing straps to thread your arms through.

Want to keep your binoculars in their carry case to keep the lenses clean? Not a problem with this strap design. Leave the case on and use the Long Grass strap as usual.

The Long Grass Binocular Strap really is the most versatile binocular carry strap available! And the look...Wouldn't you really rather have leather?
