Summary

Tilley Bush shirts are a light-weight wardrobe staple, that work well in the rugged conditions of the field as well as they do for everyday wear.

Detail Description

Since 1984, the Bush Shirt has been a Tilley wardrobe staple. Why mess with a good thing? The answer is that we always strive to improve. All the wonderful style features of these traditional shirts remain intact for the diehard Bush Shirt fans.
Our newly fabricated Bush Shirts are softer, lighter in weight and are as suitable for the rugged outback as it is for everyday wear. Moisture management, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties are key additions to travel comfort in lightweight polyester/cotton blend.
A great new fabric with the same durability but softer and lighter in weight, with built in moisture management properties, only makes the Bush Shirt that much better. Made with 65% polyester, 35% cotton poplin with H2OUT (moisture management) and Fresh 3 (Anti-bacterial, Anti-microbial, Anti-Fungal). This fabric has been tested and certified as providing ultraviolet protection.
Made in Canada.

Great for photo safari or general travel where light weight and quick washing is a must.

Caring for Your Tilley Clothing

Tilleys are designed to be easy care. By that we mean most are easy to wash, will air dry overnight, and require no ironing or special care.

   - Wash using cold water – cold’s better for the environment and clothes
   - Wash inside out with like colors
   - Do not use bleach or fabric softeners
   - Smooth out wrinkles, hang to air dry, or machine dry using low heat.
   - Tilley Hats should be air-dried.
   - Wool, Fur Felt and Raffia Tilley Hats should not be washed.
   - Most will air dry – no ironing required. If you wish to lightly iron, use low setting

The wash instructions/universal care symbols are inside each garment to assist you:

Hand washing:

If hand washing, especially with concentrated travel-wash detergents, take care to use only small quantities of detergent and rinse thoroughly. Residues of detergent in clothing can cause problems with performance and appearance. Clothing air dries more quickly if wrung out within an absorbent towel after hand washing. Tilleys benefit from being smoothed out and drip-dried on hangers after hand washing.

Stains:

It’s best to select from the range of appropriate stain-removal products available. You should attempt to remove the stain as soon as possible and before washing. Do not use heat, which will set the stain. The bacteria that cause odor can grow at an amazing rate. Rinse or wash sweat-dampened clothing as soon as possible.

Do not use fabric conditioners:

Generally, these work by coating each fiber of the clothing with a waxy deposit and will impair its performance.

Drying:

A key advantage of synthetics is that they dry much faster, with fewer wrinkles. If you’re using a dryer make sure it is at the low heat setting as some fabrics may shrink if exposed to high temperatures. Lycra®/Spandex, added for stretch, does not like heat either.

Ironing:

For most Tilleys, only the fussiest would iron. Iron using low heat, or, better still, remove warm from the dryer before the cycle stops
